Sketch by Huat LIM for the Alexandria Hospital Competition submitted in 2005. Concept follows the tradition of a boutique resort, project faces a water body to be embraced and appreciated from within the rooms. The entire experience is not unlike visiting a hotel complete with restaurants, public realm, reception facilities include bookstore and cafetaeria. In terms of wellness design and healthcare, we resolved that most patients recover more quickly if they were given a view out of the window, perhaps connecting them more intimately to their natural environment, bringing in a lot more daylight for instance.
